Centenary Birthday Party
Saturday 30 September (12 noon - 5 pm)
The school was established in September 1917 on the site that it still occupies and celebrates its birthday every year on 29 September, the feast of St Michael’s and All Angels.
The Birthday Party will in be the school grounds, admission is free and all are welcome...
Open to past/present pupils, staff, parents and the local community this event will launch Lady Margaret School’s Centenary programme and celebrate what is now and what was then.
If you’re an Old Girl come and see the changes, the school’s expansion, creation of the Centenary Garden, reunite with old class mates and remember your school days in our alumnae classrooms. If you’re a local resident, have never been through our gates before, are considering the school for your daughter or are keen to hear about our history and view our archives come along and get to know us better. Current parents and pupils gather with friends and family and celebrate being part of the LMS community at a special time in the school’s history.
Refreshments will include a sit down lunch (12 noon - 2.15pm) accompanied by piano recitals. Cream teas will be served from 3.15 - 5pm. Advanced bookings recommended and payment required to secure limited places for groups; gather friends and reminisce. Our Champagne bar will be open throughout the day in the Centenary Garden where tea and coffee will also be served.
Gather at 3 pm to watch the Centenary capsule ceremony take place. There will be a festival atmosphere for current pupils in the playground with music being played, a netball tournament taking place and caterers providing refreshments. Guided tours of the school will take place throughout the day. Specially commissioned Centenary merchandise will be available to purchase. Fine art created by our pupils over the last ten years will also be on sale.
