Red & Black Party - 17 July 2018
To celebrate the end of the Centenary year a ‘Glittering Red and Black Party’ was organised by the LMS PTA and held in the school grounds on Tuesday 17 July.
It was a glorious evening (the weather held) and parents, LMX alumnae, teachers, staff and governors, dressed in the infamous school colours of Red & Black walked the red carpet from the old school gate into the Centenary Garden.
On arrival guests were welcomed with a Beaufort Cocktail and canapes. Dinner was paella spectacularly cooked in enormous pans with delicious options catering for all dietary requirements.
With a glitter ball in place in the middle of the school hall and DJ Mike on the decks there was time to remember days of school discos past and guests danced the rest of the evening away.
Proceeds raised from the event, including the live/silent auction and raffle held that night, went towards the Centenary Garden – a legacy project which the PTA continues to raise funds for.
Everyone agreed that the party was a wonderful opportunity to cherish friendships made within the school community and a fitting conclusion to what had been a very special series of Centenary celebrations throughout the year
